Spring Cleaning!

Hoorah! Warmer times are finally upon us. Welcome back, Spring!

For many of us it often means panicking about your bikini body, but today I want you to consider how incredibly cleansing it can be to make your home clean and mean!

Spring Cleaning is thought to have origins in marking the start of the Persian New Year, which falls on the first day of the season. Many cultures around the world do it differently, but all with the same awesome effect.

After recently reading The Life-changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organising, by Marie Kondo, I won't lie - I've been slightly obsessed with the concept. But I think it's a fabulous new-found obsession, and it doesn't focus on scrubbing the bathroom!

Whilst Spring Cleaning is simply a great 'excuse' to tidy up, Marie says it's a simple method that can be easily adapted into your every-day life:

“Keep only those things that speak to your heart. Then take the plunge and discard all the rest. By doing this, you can reset your life and embark on a new lifestyle.”

She also recognises that it can be particularly hard to let go of things we're emotionally attached to:

“No matter how wonderful things used to be, we cannot live in the past. The joy and excitement we feel here and now are more important.”

I can't tell you how many items I've donated, thrown out, or given to friends lately - and it feels amazing!

Instagram sensation Anita Vandye (@rocket_science) might help you make think twice about feeling the need to fill your new-found tidy space, particularly if you love shopping:

"Buying the best quality you can afford means you buy less, but you buy better. I choose to buy second-hand so I can afford high-quality brands at low prices; also it's a much better option for the environment."

And with op-shops and 'up-cycling' all the rage, there's never been a better time to live more minimalistic.

But as long as you're stocked up on all things Dr JW, you'll never have to worry about cluttering your skin - we use only the good stuff your skin actually needs!

Stay beautiful,
